Bike bogs when hot - ktm 625

Bike worked perfectly, next day it wouldn't start.
I put the plug against ground and gave it a kick, no spark!
I put the ignition wire 1/8 of an inch away from ground and tried again, no spark.

I guess there are several different ways to ride a bike depending on surface/speed and so on so don't tell me it is wrong to ride standing...
