It will not repair them but it will calibrate a repaired or new strip but, you have to remove the fuel strip from the tank and have it completely dry to do the calibration.

Mine works just fine...

It appears to take longer to "calibrate" based on how long you rode with it in the "failed" mode. My first zap took a few tanks and the second failure was zapped the same day it happened...
