Hard riding doesn't necessarily mean straight line high speeds. Consider sticky tires, hot pavement, and some serious RPM's leaning over hard coming out of a corner. I think the Shaft has got it...

Well, the obvious dried up fluid would point to a resounding "yes", but it does have some resistance. I've never had one in my hands until now so I don't know how hard the resistance should be....

Those rubber washers/seals are inside the "guide support" at the top of the damper rod (where the compression springs fit over). You'll find them inside the body - if they haven't disintegrated....

How often do the clutch, choke, and throttle cables need to be lubed? Or perhaps they don't require it. Some cables are lined with Teflon/nylon that don't need lubrication? Is this the case with OEM...
