Never heard of it, I say run as fast as you can from that "mechanic". I don't have a '15 but I run the recommended viscosity in my '12 450 for 3500 miles now. All good.

Just the reeds, they are OEM. Tried to get Boyeson but they were out of stock. Didn't silicon the cage but installed a new gasket as well. Funny thing, there wasn't an old gasket to take off.
