Used to get 55 mpg on the highway on my 1050 Tiger when it was stock. Went down to about 45 mpg after it was tuned for performance. Getting 50+ on my TR650 now with harsh riding.

You should look into a good used Husky TR650. Smoothest motor and most power of any single I have ridden and windshields are available. Leagues above my KLR.
