Orange crush

Thanks for the feedback.

I just figured that if the Sertao was only 47lbs lighter than the F800GS, then the 690cc super enduro would be around 70lbs lighter than the 990, easy.
I was way off in...

fair enough

When I first started researching KTM, I figured the Baja 990 ADV would be much lighter than what she was. I suprised she was 209 kg (461 lb) (dry).

KTM 690 and KLR650

320lbs
435lbs

115lbs difference.
Granted a good 22lbs is fuel a tank mass.

So 90bs.

With the V2 being 505lbs.
Could the new AT 1,000 cc be 90lbs lighter?

1,000cc MC

Would be good to have two trims.

The weekend warrior $13,000 model.

And the slow and easy wins the epic tour version. $9,000.

If Honda makes two differnet frames, add $2,0000 to the...

Fair enough

I was refering to the dual sports and ADV touring MCs.

If they just baby step toward the Tiger 800 and F800GS, we will be good.

The F800GS could be an awsome MC with lots of...

It is the best compromise on dirt and touring.
Smoother than a thumper on the tarmac.
100lbs lighter than the liter + bikes off road.
Still good torque with the p. Twin.

Game the game of life

To off set cons.

Get a skinny 18" tyre that is as close to 90/90 as you can, and even better grip.
Not sure which tyre can do this.:ear

Get a snorkel for the pipe.:D

Thoughts for off road. Urban enduro

Pros
1. Really good torque. Duh, the engine is beast!
2. Narrow wheel base.
3. Fat rear tyre for grip. Ok stock tyre too!
4. Good dirt bike ergos.
A. Pegs are high for ruts

Better than the Honda Adv MCs

The lot of them!

It should be better than the Wee3 also.
And the KLR NEW EDITION.... MAYBE.

I posted a question about how slim the front tyre can get, I can't remember the answer.:1drink

Excellent post. Good detail.

I am anti modern day BMW.

however, their flag ship GS is the best out of their MCs.

For 99% tarmac and having logistical support about the same, and doing weekend warrior stuff, go GS.

Yes

You are good.

There are at least two ways to carry a bike.

On the back
Or
On a one wheel trailer device.

So you could do both, even on a epic tour.

Honestly, the best Tiger for me would be a used first gen XC.

The thousands saved would off set the lousy fuel economy.
Plenty of room for extra fuel in BC/YT and Alaska portion of the tour.

On the NC Adv Edition you could have two tanks.

17 liter or so in the front and the 14 liters under the seat.

A new frame would need to be built to accomadate the new 21" tyre and fuel cell.
