You need to remove the lower left fairing (the grey piece). This will give you access to the shifter bolt so you can adjust it.

You can also get 12V source from the green connector of the BMW computer diagnostic connector (AKA relay trigger wire). No splicing needed at all.

Had the dealer check valves for the 6k service and noticed they charged me a whooping $82 for the gaskets replacement kit.
