I'd think that checking that valve adjustment won't say shit unless they are so whacked out that they are permanently open which I'd think...

I had previously fixed the large endplay on the left side and had overtorqued the cylinder...

I installed a Dyna III and all my previous issues were resolved, intermittent timing problems, bogging down etc.
Things were amazingly better as my points were all fuggered up and randomly sparked...

So it turns out my points were whack.
I finally got a test light and found that the light came on not just when rotating the engine through the "S" but seemingly randomly throughout the revolution....

Just went to check the valve clearances and noticed that the vertical clearance or end play was very big - about .4mm or more on both rocker arms so loosened the bolts and fashioned the tool to cinch...

I seem to be able to "fix" it by pulling the right side throttle and then the left (at least twenty minutes ago)....

Watch out for potholes... sheared subframe bolts right off

In traffic it was too late for me to avoid this giant pothole so I stood on my pegs and went over/into it.
It was a huge, mini sinkhole (IMO).
