Should the splines of the WC boxers be lubed like the splines of the oil heads before them? I used to do that every 12k on my R1200ST, but I haven't seen it as a maintenance requirement for my 2014...

Water pump failure

Coolant stains around the weep hole on 2014 GS with 31K miles.

Dealer checked it out and is going to install a new water pump under warrantee. i think I'll shop around for an extended warrantee ...

My first set of pads lasted about 7K miles. Took them off and sanded and greased the pins, put on OEM pads and they are still good at 30K. I think the pins were sticking and causing the pads to drag....

Brake pad wear

First set was toast at 12K miles. When I replaced them with OEM pads I made sure I cleaned and lubed all the pins and pivot points. At 25K miles now, and more than half the pad is still available....

lowered stand

My 2014 lowered GS came with the wrong center stand installed. I took it back to the dealer and they replaced it with the correct one under warrantee.

When I spoke to Garmin tech support about issues I was having with the installed card, they told me they recommend 8GB as the largest to put in. i don't use the card now, so it's not an issue for me.
