Top edge ring

The ring on what would be inside of caliper where the dust seal fits is what I was asking about. Inside the piston bore on the inside edge with the caliper mounted on the forks. Thnx

R-100s 1978 Front brakes

Has anyone done the brake rebuild with calipers that have a rusty sealing ring?
Clean pads or replace them?
Have used lots of time soaking with penetrating oil etting bit of sealing ring out....

The F -8 was fun in the dirt in New Mexico until I left Colorado to ride back to the East Coast. I sold it for a 1200 heavier in stature but good for dirt roads.

Ohlins seem to require more maintence ie. more frequent oil & seal changes than Elka & others due to materials used in manufacture.

The ESA shocks are in the box not really sure you could get a good value for them either on ebay or here.

I was thinking to sell it & had the motor done in NH.
