Good info. in this thread. Only thing I can add is a nice starting point to the day: Stick helmet in your home freezer before heading out. Adds a cold start to a hot day. Don't tell my wife.

6x0 and 9x0 are both in the heavyweight division. Both are great on long doubletrack or better dirt, but get tirirng -- for me anyway -- after a lot of tight stuff.

If you don't think you want to do much off road, go with the BMW. Overall a bit more comfort in differing conditions...

Why not use a portable unit? I have a Pioneer Inno unit for XM and it moves between house, bike and SUV. Plus it records the programs/music and MP3s. So its useful on a bicycle or walking as well....
