as another person here said, nothing has changed on the bike, it's been the same since '97. And they run FOREVER. If you can't get there on a DR650, you probably shouldn't be trying.

I'm kinda confused. I plan to put a slip on exhaust and a KN air filter on my DR650. Do I need to make any changes to the jetting? I get mixed answers, I hope someone out there can help me out here....

I think the main reason for them blowing 3rd gear is just the plain fact that the DR is ridden most extensively in 3rd. It's the perfect gear for that bike :P

I ride because I get the best of both worlds, street and dirt. It's something about feeling the bike carry you hundreds of miles at a time that does it for me.
