The plastic parallel bush in the link you posted is interesting but I would not go that way....

Fixated on rear end!!

Bit more work on the rear end. The salt racer has no front brakes - keeps windage down so back brake will just have to do.
Anyway, at lake Gairdner, have 160km to stop!
