The service interval on a 450x are 8000km, in it's Non-Performance mode, however with the 'chip' added, that comes down to 10 hours.

Yes, the Western Cape has some of the best gravel-road touring in SA, maybe drop Radioman a PM, since he just did a 7-week swing thru Southern Africa, and can give you some pointers...

yup, my 2001 had it's first brake-line problem in 2011, I changed that specific line to braided hose, and now plan to change all the rest (weak link in a chain-scenario?!)
