I have no idea if it could be plated in Newfoundland.
Washington State has a fairly new law that allows offroad bikes to be plated- as long as they meet all the requirements and pass an inspection....

I'd probably run extra oil for 15 minutes or so- just to make sure the bearings are well lubed.
