Best bet would be to mount it on the bars.

The only other armor I've used is an Alpinestars pressure suit. It definitely seems to be cooler than that, but I think that is mostly because the pressure suit was worn under my jersey vs this over...

Stay far away from that year bike. The top ends are horrible at staying together. Shared bike with Suzuki, so the 04-06 RMZ 250 is the same nightmare.
