My clutch started slipping ever so slightly in...

My clutch started slipping ever so slightly in 4th and 5th. Oil in was 10w50synth so I drained it and put 20w50 in to see if it makes it slip less.

Shavings could be from that?

Ok, so I changed the oil, oil filter, and then took out the screen of the frame.....eish. What a dirty it was! few shavings, sealant etc as I sent it in to do the timing chain.

My problem here in SA is the stem bearings. You only get them OEM or AllBalls. The std bearing ID is 25mm where the OEM is 26mm.

The wheels bearings was more or less the same in SKF, NTN, FAG but...

The XR reason was maybe more off road.

I think bigger bikes (990-1000cc plus) wear bearings far more worse than your average 600-650.

I tend to disagree. When I order Honda bearings, it is normal bearings(SKF, NTN etc) at exhorbitant prices!!!
So I use AllBalls and they last just as long.
