so, just replaced my tube (stupid nail) and found a surprise. there are a few wires poking through where the tire contacts the rim as seen below. the tread is still fine and the tire isnt that old....

so, rode the klr the other day after rebuilding the carb. the good news is that job is done and the bike runs like a champ. the bad news is that the gremlins seem to have moved on to the clutch....

ive riden down to -5 F (thank heaven for kickstarts to warm you up) and had little trouble. depending on how long you had been riding at the time i wouldnt think you would have trouble with cold...
