Removed the clutch hub today and main bearings...

Removed the clutch hub today and main bearings looked fine and were also of the newer type.
Noticed some cracks in one of the oil pump gears so that will be replaced as well. Luckily most parts cost...

I removed the sprint on the pushrod before removing the preassure plate, maybe you are not supposed to but thats how i did it and i guess thats why they did not come out together....

KTM LC4 metal shavings...any ideas?

Changed oil today and found this on the magnetic oil plug (nothing in the oil screen).
Bike has 42500 km on it and got new piston, main bearings etc at 30 000km.
Starter clutch fixed 2500 km's ago...

Nothing wrong with 99 model and the color is the best looking of all years IMO.
As always with 640 Adv, I definitively recommend a fcr41 carburator as the stock mikuni or dellorto sucks big time....

Thanks, went to a mx track the other day and the fork bottomed a few times and the shock once so I guess a slight increase for the shock as well eg from 70 to 75 wont hurt together with 48 springs...

Thing is that according to my measurements, shock seems ok (both static and total sag) but fork seems too soft. So if i would go for a 80 spring on the shock then i guess sag will be too small....

Just measured the sag on my 98 adv with the 50mm extreme fork which has the stock springs ie 44 front, 70 rear.

Fork

Got an FCR41 from a 660 SMC 04 that I'm trying to fit my Adventure 640 98.
It seems air filter boot should be same on both bikes but as can be seen in pics the carb fits too loosely to the airbox....

I assume that the chassis of the 690 is better than the 660 but at the same time it seems like there are quite alot of problems with the 690 engine, at least for the factory riders in this years...

Does anyone know if the touring wind shield for the 690 enduro will fit on the headlight mask of a 525EXC 06? The idea is to use it for protection of roadbook, GPS and other stuff on the bars.
