I cannot speak from any road experience, but I see and hear this being said about all 5-gear bikes. That's where the KLR shines, but 60lbs and a couple of inches have unfortunately driven me away...

If you looked at some of the more recent posts, the consensus is that the DR650 is more manageable for vertically challenged persons than the DRZ400. The extra weight is a non-issue, if you ask me....
