Horn, brake light, turn signals. That connector at the lower left corner of the schematic (above the turn signal switch) seems to be a common route for the three failed circuits.

I've used sheep skin covers for years. Warm in the winter and cool in summer. You don't have to get fancy. Just buy a piece of sheepskin on ebay, trim to fit and add some elastic.

The stem to bearing interference fit seemed a bit tight on mine. I was able to fit the lower bearing on my press, but the top was a no go by hand untill I reduced the size a smidgin with a file.

As I posted earlier, it sounds like the voltage regulator isn't regulating. The ignition modules do not like voltage spikes. See the attached wiring diagram.

I made it a point to replace all of the springs in the shifter assembly. Some years ago I had that pawl spring break on me on my R65LS. Luckily it happened within pushing distance of home.
