43 mm forks

Geoff, Yz490 triple clamps are a bolt on. Same bearings and the stem is the right length. They will take the stock bar mounts and 43mm forks. You'll have to build a bracket for the key switch though.

Yes it does, to get to all the fuel. Mine was converted to an electric pump, before I got it. I think the original was a vacum unit.

Did you try running the fuel screws out? 3/4 of a turn out is too little. 1.5 to 2 is normal, less or more it needs a different pilot jet.

The Yamaha part# is 34L-81960-A0-00 for an '84 XT600, should be the same I would think. I've had to get some parts for my '89 and the basic stuff is the same. Good luck.

If it has an electric starter, then it is an xt600e. The muffler should also double as a part of the subframe. It should be the same as what was sold here from '90 to '95 or '96, so parts shouldn't...
