Have you tried shortening the garter springs? They should unscrew somewhere in their circumference, cut 5(?)mm off the female end and screw them back together, reinstall.

Same as the intake only more awkward, wrap the frame/wiring/coil area in plastic wrap or tin foil to keep the dirt from falling into the engine...

16-42 with street tires makes it much more pavement friendly, all 5 gears...

Damping shouldn't make a difference, air pressure/springs just provide the force to push through the stiction.

I'm not sure how you could actually measure the amount of stiction to a number...

The full compression method makes sense on initial install, after a service, after a big hit that twists the front wheel out of line...

It depends somewhat on the tires, a D908 rear I ran almost flat, it was better, but...
