Both bikes.

For the 5% of dirt riding, heck, a Harley can handle that too. I demoed both bikes and they are WAY more than what you are asking them to do.

I really liked the BMW. But the model I rode had that...

What's up with that buzz??.

I demoed one and noticed it too. I have a DR650 so I know all about buzzes. But the one on the BMW is truly annoying. Goes away if you take it out of Sport mode.

Laugh Finally a demo ride!

By accident, I found out that my local KTM dealer was having a 1190 Adventure Demo Day. Both models would be available. As soon as I found out, I made a reservation.

I demoed the BMW F800GS...

Excellent! Just went for a demo group ride and just about everybody complained about the heat. Including me. Glad there is an easy fix.

Great analogy.

Great analogy!

Yes, you can't compare the DR650 and the F800GSA. I own a DR650 and love it. But the F800GSA is a tank with much more plush than the DR650.

If Suzuki only offered an Adventure...

I think the modes MUST change engine mapping. Not only was comfort mode less buzzy, but throttle response was less touchy. Engine braking was more relaxed too.

When I shifted to 6th gear, I was...

Okay, so today I took a demo ride. I'm glad I did! It was about 45 minutes and gave me a decent overview of the bike. Lets start with the positives!

Took some time off from riding and looking to get back. Then I saw BMW did it: An adventure version of the F800GS! Something they should've done long ago.

I ride a Suzuki DR650 and love it. ...

No charging available via USB? Firmware upgrade would be cool but charging the unit when the charge looks would really help. I hate throwing out batteries.
