That's what a relay is for it has a sensing wire to allow voltage only when it senses voltage. You could use any wire that is hot when the bike is on (like the taillight wiring or headlight wiring)...

Just run a relay. There is a wiring kit a kragen/oreilys etc that's by the cheap off road lights for 16 bucks all you need. Maybe get a cooler switch but still a nice little kit
