Hey all....so I guess the wooden bridge is restricted to ATV's and 2 wheeled vehicles until further notice.(call to BLM 2/28)

My buddies drz did to same thing.....turned out to be the float valve....it was cracked and allowing fuel to pass....it was a real small thing....take a real close look at things.

The backing plate method works the best. I use one on my V-strom for the long hauls. As long as you only pack it with the light stuff, you won't even know its there. Very versatile and sturdy.

I finally gave up on the hard mount idea for the same reasons as the OP. I just keep it in the tank bag and use the remote.......haven't had a problem with freeze ups or shut downs.....good luck
