Metzler Z8 longevity?

I put on a rear Z8 about 4000 miles ago and the tire is showing the thread in the middle. Anyone have any experience on this tire and its mileage? 4K seems low to me.

Beemer Buddies Received

I received my Beemer Buddies within 4 days of payment. I have them on my R1200RT and my Husky TE610 and they work well on both bikes.
