Thanks for the update!

Great stuff there. Thanks for taking the time to show us the pics. Went on a ride yesterday in the mountains. Couldn't agree more about the bike!

Both great bikes

and anyone is privileged to ride either one despite their issues. Really appreciate both for different reasons. For me, the R is more dirt capable, lighter, safer, and sport mode is simply awesome.

Ride Report?

Will you do a ride report, at least an abbreviated one? What an exceptional trip!

So SW Moto is truly lower?

Sorry yall,
When I looked at the SW Mototech site, I could not distinguish if this was "lower" than stock/upright or the lowest position. So, the additional drop (1.5 in.) is accurate from the...

2 Cents

Every time I think I am bailing on this bike after switching over from the GS & looking at a 800 XC, I can not find anything as light, capable, safe, tall, and fast/with as much torque while still...

Stock Muffler with Enduristans

Hey CanningOz,
Let us know how the set up works with the stock muffler. Most folks that went with the Enduristans, which I really am leaning toward, either changed the stock muffler to a Wings or...

Uni or Matter of Time

Sorry to see this, XsilverGS.
At this point, it is almost a certainty that if precautions of some form are not taken (Uni, etc.), it is only a matter of time. Sincerely hope KTM responds quickly,...

Life is so much better with an Uni in it. Planning a long trip through the National Forests of northern New Mexico. Been riding with confidence and checking periodically to ensure proper sealing. All...

Yes, even after original doubts

I researched the heck out of this bike, and briefly considered going back to the GSs or a Tiger 800 EX while waiting for my UNI to arrive. But after looking at all of the bikes at an adventure rally...

All Good (thank goodness)

Really glad I was patient. All good in the box (sorry, can't get pic to upload even though it 1200x1600), uni now in place, time to ride with confidence (knock on wood). Will check in around 300 or...

Uni arrived today. Meeting buddies on Friday to do the install, and the Nerb video is a great help (thanks, Nerb!). Excited to move on from the issue, and ride the trails again. Will give an update...

Everything

I switched over from a 1200 GS, and I love everything about the bike. Don't get me wrong, the GS is a solid, solid bike. But on the dirt, it really is in a different league. Based on all the bikes on...

Overland Expo in Flagstaff (Roll Call)

Just curious: Any orange-crushers make it to the Expo? Always a fun showing with great people. Would love to hear your thoughts if you made it out.

There is a great comparison of all the adv bikes in the new Overland Journal. Since they were primarily testing for dirt-oriented adventures, they loved the KTM R (Editor's Choice Award) with the...

Waiting on UNI

85 miles, and not moving again until UNI gets here (tomorrow?). Not worth the risk, as I bought it for extensive use on dirt. Feel for the fellas with engine trouble. Sincerely do. Hang in there, and...

2 Great Machines

Hey BH1,
Since you already have all the bases covered in terms of situational bikes (great bikes, by the way!), I think your analysis is spot on. I recently traded in my GS for a 1190 R, and I...

Just picked up my bike not too long ago and am still in the break-in period (love it, so much more aggressive than my GS). Since I am a research guy, I called yesterday concerning the air filter to...
