The road you absolutely don't want to ride if it's been raining is the road north from hay creek ranch headquarters. It turns to horrid Gumbo. I once spent an hour to go two miles.

Just at FYI Breitenbush lake is on Warm Springs Indian Reservation land. I wouldn't recommend trying to camp there and they frown on it.

I thought Horseshoe lake was beautiful.

I've gone up Hess twice on my DR350, easy peasy. My cousin was on his GS 800, without issue. I would ride my vstrom up it now that I've lowered the gearing.
