The little "connection line" between the switch terminal 2 & 3 is a bit misleading. Its just the resistor like you indicated...no trace.

My DR650 is shod with GP-1s. No complaints on the front.
Rear work good as well....but, its about 75% gone in 2500 miles.

It would be cool to find a rear that lasted longer....
