Roadscum, it was a cheap lesson about pushing it on a narrow wilderness road at night, that's for sure. Better lighting made me overconfident. Like I said, cheap lesson, could have been fugly.

Just came back from a 2,200k ride to Alberta and back. Not used to the spungy factory shocks on the '11 GS. I would say that they are the weakpoint of the bike. I would sacrifice the ESA for good...
