I went with a bit more height rather than width....

I went with a bit more height rather than width. Two stainless M10 "stud connector" nuts and some sawn off threaded bar, and the mirrors are 30mm higher.

I wonder if something is stopping the CAN-BUS from going to sleep. Might be worth disconnecting accessories (regardless of who fitted them...) and see if that stops it.

I'd worry more about a slight notch in the head bearings, than play. And that's how they generally fail too.

Centre stand, weight off the front end, check-em again.
