They are about the same quickness in acceleration so the power difference should not be a deciding factor. DR has more low end torque, DRZ has more high end hp. DRZ is better in dirt, DR is better...

The water level is now about a foot or so deep and the current is not very strong. The crossing is very easy and there isn't much risk if you do stall or tip over.

Also M1 is still snowed in...
