Wow.

Is it that simple? Thanks! I spent ten years on a R1150GS which was great but didn't have such things. I admit my stupidity.

I still need to get a new battery...

2011 r1200gs adventure service code 08-14

Hi everyone, I did a pretty complete Google search so I'm sorry if I missed this.

Today I got back on the bike after stopping for dinner and immediately after the self test the display showed "08...

Agreed

I totally agree with this. I've got a bike in the garage waiting for several additions I've already bought because I don't want to buy an inferior fuse box and relays and all that just to do it...

Kickstarter is perfect for this!

Just let us know when you have the project in place and I, for one, will head right over.

My experiences with this cover

While I can't remember the exact model I used (it covered a R1150GS with Caribou 36 liter cases on SWMotech racks if that helps) I thought I'd simply mention a couple of things in relation to what...

Yes, and don't know

I could remove the grab rails but as I said in another post I don't want to. I haven't had this bike for very long (I had an 1150gs too and just sold it, the whole set of dimensions surrounding this...

Well, probably

It is probable. But you get limited by how close it comes to your back on the one side and how far it sticks out on the side by the other. Going deeper would solve those but then the amount of...

Yeah, a compromise

You are right. Basically I did a few layman calculations and figured the nylon would be good enough and that the bolts would bend before the base did. The case, either way, should do a great job of...

Thanks, explanation

I really am only using this for the commute. I like the option of keeping the rear rack stock without having to go through any motions of removing it. It is well-built and keeps all of the other...

Maybe, but

Maybe, but, in the case of a straight tip over there wouldn't be much touching the ground. If I go over at speed then whatever...this will be the least of my worries. Your point is well taken but...

Thumb Nanuk/GSessories top case install 2011 GSA

I commute on my bike a lot and needed a place to put things that was watertight. My laptop, in particular, is a wide screen model so most of the other top boxes out there were either too small to...

I prefer the Storm

On my R1150GS I have the Storm cases only but in other parts of my life I use Pelican. I prefer the Storm for the motorcycle mainly because I like the latches and the cases are a bit lighter than...

I agree on the dollar/euro thing - I don't know how they do it

I honestly don't know how BMW is doing the pricing for these new bikes so close to what they've always been. In my profession, that of a professional orchestral bassoonist, the standard for our...

Beware rust

If uncovered, I have seen the bike rust on certain bolts (2000 R1150GS). Also, my wheels look a lot worse for wear (they are going to Woody's in Jan to be rebuilt because of this). Buy a cover.

I know all about the directions tab. I can use that, of course, and have - even printing it out and using that to find my likely stopping locations.

But, say a leg is 350 miles long and I'm...

Do we have weights for these nice panniers? Including racks?

R1150GS in question for me, but I'm sure others would be interested as well.

Thanks!

No pressure on the 1150

I know you're busy. I was merely stating that I probably will miss this group buy because I don't know of the success of the 1150, that's all.

Thanks!

I've got them

Not terrible. No problems with wiring or any electrical stuff. Have lasted three years now. Would probably not buy them again because the difference wasn't that noticeable to me. YMMV.

Well, I would like to vote for this if it can be done and is feasible. I love my bike and have the Rox risers but if I can avoid some numb hands by changing out my bars I'm all over it!

Adaptation?

Thanks, Andrew.

I wonder what would be different? Are the R1200GS bars smaller in diameter? That should be an easy adaptation for the end user, right?

I haven't found the weight for those Zegas, but every one of the aftermarket pannier systems I have seen weigh at least 30 pounds with rack.
