I have had the opposite experience. I have had several KLR's never had one let me down, 52k miles on one. The DR on the other hand has cost me much$$$ when 3rd gear went.

All good for me. How about you? My break is very similar to yours. Darnd plate sticking up gets the skin irritated by the body armor i wear when riding, but other than that, good.

You have a 09, the tensioner is about the same as the one on my 03 DRZ. Those are very much like the tensioner on a DR650. My 01 DRZ had a different tensioner, i think those are the ones...

Been using it for years. It wont shatter into dangerous pieces, much safer. It does require about 350 degrees and a little more time in the oven to make it workable.
