I agree, lose the extra gear on the front and keep the tank. I only fill the tank completely up when I am road touring. The plastic tank isn't that heavy if you don't top it off.

I have gone full circle. Sold the PD in the late 90's, then 1100gs, 1200gs and then 1200gsa. Now back to 93 PD with a Vstrom for quick trips. I think I can ride the PD into the sunset.

I agree with the group that air wrenches are a damage maker on bikes. I use air tools quite a bit for sanding and fairing for paint applications. Cut off grinders can be useful in assembly.

Epoxy bonds to fiberglass, and other epoxy. Fiberglass resin will not bond to epoxy. You can repair any fiberglass with epoxy, but not the other way.

The speedo jump is a well discussed issue on the forum. The fix is not cheap. I would offer in the $6000 range at most. The speedo is around $450 for a new one or you can have it repaired.
