I have worked a lot with Carbon Fiber, but it i so easy to make your own corner protectors out of Kydex .

It is very easy and they have been tested, knock on wood.....so far so good.

Yes use the other clamp it makes getting the box in and out very easy.
I had the same problem with dust also. The uni filter with trimming the box fixed the problem.

Just a thought, when was the fuel injector filter checked. Maybe it surges as it gets into a lean condition from lack of fuel but then quickly it goes into a limp home mode.
