KLR common torques... handy guide

http://www.klr650.marknet.us/torque.html

With lock nuts, it's common to add the running torque (the friction from the "self locking" function) to the desired final torque, but in this case I stick...

Maybe you do have a bad pickup, stator... or maybe even rotor/flywheel!

I've built up two '08 engines for Gen 1 use, which requires swapping out stator & crank position sensor - different...

Kinda my thoughts too

The H-T rear racks CAN be used alone, but are likely a stronger setup used with side racks... more weight :eek1

I'd like to stiffen up the front springs a bit, and have thought about adding spacers - are these cartridges like adjustable spacers?

Good to know

I'd love to switch to synthetic oil, but just know that'd be a dumb thing to do until it's well broken in.

Yup, pic's back up - last time as OP I do that! Am assuming being fuel injected that KTM starts easily in the cold? KLR gets harder to get going as it gets colder.

You can buy either

You can buy a Ural with or without 2WD. The 2WD "Gear Up" version is $17K, and standard version north of $13K, why the build-it-yourself DMC Enduro option is better value IMO.
