My Honda ST1100, EZS, RX5 sidecar outfit, including topbox, panniers, wife and I, weighs in about 1420 lbs. No camping equipment as we don't camp, that's what motels are for!

It'll probably fit in the back of a PU truck while attached to a bike. I used to drive my XS650 Velorex combo into the back on two 2"X8"s. These small sidecars all weigh around 165lbs.

You leave it in gear. If really steep I keep a plastic wheel chock in the boot. Oh and almost forgot I sometimes use a strong elastic band on the frontbrake lever.
