Can't speak to the Road King, but I had a Evo Dyna, an Evo Electraglide and now have a TC Dyna. The Evos were a bit smoother I think (80 inches vs 88), but vibes weren't a problem on any of them.

Footboards are one of those things that some like, some don't. Once I had a bike with them and got used to them, pegs just didn't cut it any more.
For me boards are better by far for all day rides...
