synthetic oil is still petroleum based, it is just refined to the nth degree to remove impurities...i would run thinner oil in the cold...stating the obvious... but i would not worry about switching...

not sure what bars you are running but stock steel handlebars produce much less vibes than aftermarket aluminum bars but will bend easily with any fall so there is that tradeoff...i have also read...

we used to always run dry gas in our snowmobiles as the cold weather really condenses any moisture in the fuel tank/system, just an idea as it seems to start ok after the initial cold morning start....

i would think so, in general, a stock bike will sell better than a modified bike as buyers really don;t know how good the wrenching skills of the po are and prefer to do any mods themselves or hire...

i would try taking the programmer out of the loop, i know you say you set it to 'basically off' but maybe it is still affecting mileage?

maybe the PO changed some settings in the stock computer...

when i change my oil, i just put it on the kickstand and remove the oil filter cover and a little oil thats in the filter will be there but thats it, not even enough to run out in a pan.
