2014 gs

12000 miles and only problem was a torn final drive boot. Replaced under warranty. It's a heavy beast but I love riding it and it takes me where I want to go!

Tent for me

In some situations a hammock would be an advantage but overall with the new light weight, quick setup tents on the market in my opinion a hammock overall limits your camping options.

Some words of wisdom

" the memories of an old man are the deeds of a man in his prime" Pink Floyd I think penned that.

Very few , if any, people leave this world saying they wished they would have worked more

Question for you hammock lovers

If you plan on using that hammock the way it is intended don't you limit yourselves where you can camp?
I have camped in some fantastic places that did not have A tree or something to tie a hammock...

Parshall

I am about 10 miles out of Parshall. I Do not spend the winters there but a lot of good riding in the area. Parshall has no services so you have to go to either kremmling or granby for essentials.

New pads at 10000 miles

2014 GSw I was told no after market pads available yet. When available I hope they last a little longer than 10000 miles, especially at 89.00 dollars a set

I was one of those

After a little frustration I was able to figure out how those four brackets bolted to the bike with the help of the pics on your website. Pretty pleased with the set up

9500 miles on my 2014 gsw

Only two minor issues. One, a torn final drive boot, fixed under warranty and the second issue was solved by getting rid of those noisy annakee three tires.
Just finished a 27 day 6200 mile ride...

Anakee 3's

Just dumped those on my 2014 gs at 6500 miles. Way too noisy for me. Now running pilot roads and they are not making near the noise I was getting from the anakees. Will not mount them again, ever

+1 to what Eakins said

Some sandy stretches in the last few miles but doable on a gs. Just take your time and watch where you put your feet when you stop so you do not have to pic that bike up. Water is very scarce in that...

Final drive boot

Mine did same thing at 2500 miles. Getting it replaced on Friday under warranty. It seems that it is being worn from the inside out. 2014 GS regular suspension.

Thanks for the reply. Kind of looks like that might be my problem. Probably keep an eye on it and change the fluid at 500 miles or so again and see what I get out of it.

Gotta be the sand hills of Nebraska

Very nice part of Nebraska that does not get much attention with some great riding and camping. Also includes the highest waterfall in Nebraska. Don't laugh, it is pretty nice!

Heavier flywheel

I am curious on how the heavier flywheel works out on the new water cooled Adventurer compared to the lower geared enduro transmission on the earlier GSA's. Any thoughts on that ?
