So my ABS has become very sensitive recently. Shim distances checked, sensors are good, rings are good, system is bled. Is there a proper procedure to reset the ABS on this thing?

Put the pads in with the caliper in place, no need to remove it. There is a guide that slides over and prevents the caliper from sliding back in to place. DAMHIK

If you are losing sleep, shorten the wires, solder, heat shrink. Eliminate that nasty kink. I would leave it alone and just keep some extra wire in my tool kit.
