Check the cam tensioner bolt. Many were not torqued properly. I was able to tighten mine with a 6 inch 3/8 extension and a crow foot socket.

The air box is the issue not the filter. My experience is that K&N and similar filters perform poorly filtering the air. Especially fine dust. Get the UNI Filter.
