I should have taken pictures. Low speed getoff on pavement and the toe of the police-type boot was ripped wide open. Bruised toes, but could have been a lot worse.

Maybe you didn't buy the right unit for your purposes. The only way to find out what features come with which unit is to go to the Garmin comparison pages. There's a reason why the Nuvis are cheaper...

Give the socket on the GPS and the cable ends a good bath with contact cleaner. Use Caig Deoxit if you can find it. Rumor is that RatShack might carry it, but I don't go in there anymore.

If you are going to put a lot of MP3 files on a card, break them up into numerous folders, otherwise it takes forever for the 550 to boot. It used to take 20 minutes when I was using an 8GB card.

The FM traffic receiver works with the bike mount and the MSN traffic receiver works with the cage mount. This is not at all clear from Garmin's info.

XM isn't available on the 660. The USB connection is for a traffic receiver. The other two are for audio in and out. Mine are connected to my Autocom.
