ProGrip light sensitives work good with the XD....
ProGrip light sensitives work good with the XD. The view distortion isn't too bad when I use them with the shield on. I like having the ability to flip the shield down when on the highway to cut down...

They don't flex much at the knee. They don't really need to, since they don't go much higher then the knee. The front of the knee is always covered, whether your knee is straight or bent.

Pretty good for the price. They strap down nice and tight, and they're not too bulky. I wear mine under MX pants that are tucked into MX boots, but I think they'd also work well under most...

Alpinestars Tech 3 (http://www.rockymoto.com/alpinestars_tech3_page.htm) boots come in sizes up to 16. They won't be as good as your Tech 8's, but should still give you some decent protection...
