Not sure I'd rely on Google images for gas though. There are pumps all over with no gas out there that will show up in google, keep that in mind.

I have a Go Cruise. I've got an old plastic one that works fantastic and you can simply remove it when off roading so it isn't accidentally applied.

Started with the Ortliebs. Waterproof was great but they way they mounted to my the DRZ left them a bit floppy which I didn't care for. Top loading I really liked.

How hot do yours get? I can touch mine on my 2001 V11 sport after riding for hours. Not sure what color you are going for but I've done header with BBQ paint and it has lasted for years.

clean them very well, then scuff them up a bit. sounds like you have some oil or some other residue on them. That is where the spots are coming from, the paint won't adhere to the oil.
