Since I'm short anyway, I'm used to stepping up on the near peg to mount, horse style, so it's no big deal to me. I keep riding clothes in the soft pack - makes a nice back rest.

That's a really tough question. I loved my 650GS but it had more vibration than the CRF 250L. It was great on fire roads but crap in anything the least bit rough off road. The LRP is much better...
