Not that I'm aware of. That hole I think is for drainage of any moisture that might accumulate in the bucket...they're not entirely waterproof.

Yep, had an 85mph on my, now sold, 82 r100RS...it originally came from the States. It was the most accurate speedo on any BMW I ever had compared to my GPS.

You can interchange with the other one.
