I too had the hot knives in the neck after long rides.
I moved my handlebars to the forward position by turning the mounting clamps around and haven't had the problem since.

Might be worth a try.

Try replacing all of your spark plugs before the coils.

My old '09 did that and we found an hairline crack in the insulator on one of the primary plugs.

Are you sure the vibration is not coming from your wheels being out of true?

You might want to check the run out, perhaps of the tire, not the rim, as the the inside of the rim may have a divot...
